Who am I, and Why Travel?

Yeah, Yeah, I know… everyone “travels” and everyone wants to blog about it. So why am I creating yet another blog on such a heavily flooded topic? Because I LOVE IT!

A little back story: My name is Maranda. I grew up moving around a lot as a child, primarily living in the then small town of Buford, GA. We didn’t have much money so any kind of “traveling” was the occasional drive to/from the mountains of North Georgia (of which I lived for a few of those young years), even more occasional drive up to Tennessee, random one day trips usually when my parents got the whim to take a drive. Very Rarely would we get to stay overnight anywhere. The first time I ever saw the ocean I was 14 and a friend of mine invited me on her family vacation to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. And I fell In Love! I left that beach with the worst sunburn of my life, but also with this passion and desire to see and breathe the ocean air every chance I could get.

I spent pretty much all of my 20s being a young mother and not really traveling much of anywhere. I spent my days working full time, taking care of my family and making sure my kids got more than I did, all those things.

Now: I’m now 37 years old, I am happily married, and we have 3 beautiful kids! My husband and I Love to Travel, and over the last 6 years we’ve had some amazing adventures so far and can’t wait for where we go next!

I VERY RECENTLY Quit my corporate job of 13 years, to be a stay at home mom. Life’s getting busier as our kids get more active in school/sports and we finally decided that it might be best for everyone if I didn’t have to worry with the stress of work while trying to juggle so much that we have going on at home with our kids. I have spent the past 20+ years sitting at a desk, in front of a computer, to put money in the bank and food on the table. My days are a new kind of busy, but I also want to spend some of my time feeding the things that I enjoy and am passionate about, a way to fill my cup a bit. So, here we are.

Welcome to my travel blog – where I can feature so many of the most beautiful pictures from trips we have taken or where I dream of going to in the future. There’s a lot to do and see here locally in Georgia also, I plan to share all of that with you too!
